"Resin" Figures & Sets
These are figures which were originally included and only available in some of our Conte play sets as special figures. Many are extremely nice sculpts and highly sought after by collectors.
They are made of 'resin", produced in a centrifugal spin casting machine and are NOT the same as injection molded figures. When it comes to pliability, flexibility and longevity...resin figures are a 'different animal' than injection molded soft plastic figures.
While some manufacturers promote resin figures as 'plastic figures", we deem this grossly irresponsible & wrong. Resin is NOT the same as the various plastics used with injection molded figures.
SIMPLY PUT, RESIN IS FRAGILE AND MAY BREAK IF ROUGHLY HANDLED.
We own resin figures made by another manufacturer and sadly have found -over the years- that many of them will 'dry out' and become brittle or conversely , will 'ooze' an oily or slippery substance and feel 'wet' to the touch. Many figures -made by other manufacturers- are made in less than factory conditions( we know one mfr. who has these made in a garage!!) and it should be pointed out that factors such as room temperature and even humidity can affect the final product.
In one set of which I own, virtually every figure has had its tomahawks , knives, bayonets, etc. break or fall off WHILE SITTING IN THE BOX UNTOUCHED......
We have done our best to make our resin figures as pliable as we can but it has been a learning experience. The Highlanders and Afghans pictured below are from 2002 and tend to be more brittle than the Alamo figures so please be careful with them--no shooting them with rubber bands!!! The Alamo figures were made with a different resin mix and it is rare for one to break. The Viking resin figures are especially pliable and flexible and almost never break.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THESE FIGURES ARE NOT CONTE INJECTION MOLDED PLASTIC FIGURES . We will replace any figures which may become broken in transit.
Previously, these sets were only available as parts within a play set.
In sorting the warehouse , we have found a few of these and are making them available in response to collector requests as individual sets. They are perfect for use by plastic collectors (our original intention) but are also highly prized by m collectors who like to do their own painting.
These sets are limited in quantity and no guarantee exists that they will be in stock at the time you place your order. All orders will be calculated by us before shipping and shipping will be charged at our actual cost.
Photos are of sample sets and some color variation is possible. In the Alamo sets the figures are either a rust or tan color and your particular bag may be different than the sample set shown in the photos.
